I normally work behind the scenes and help my husband, Matt, from time to time. Today seems like an appropriate time for me, to come from behind the scenes, to celebrate Matt’s accomplishment. Matt was named 2016 Agent of the Year for Village Realty (8th year in a row) and he was also the #1 Outer Banks Agent from Corolla to Nags Head in 2016. Hopefully my posting can relieve Matt that awkward post about yourself and allow me to brag on my husband for just a minute.
The Outer Banks real estate market is extremely fast-paced and competitive with over 700 licensed brokers. Matt works hard, I mean really hard. He answers emails, texts and calls close to 24/7, from prospective buyers to seasoned Outer Banks investors to first-time sellers and repeat clients. Each one of those calls presents with its own set of questions and answers, then you have other agents, inspectors, contractors, appraisers, insurance agents, attorneys, rental companies and many other providers that require contact when buying or selling a home. This barely touches his other tasks like sign placement (and making sure to adhere to community covenants for that sign), photography, lock boxes, transfer of utility services, returning of cable boxes, maintaining a website, posting to a Facebook business page, marketing materials, enter listings, paperwork and so much more. Shew, I’m tired and I just watch Matt in motion.
Most people have no idea all that goes into every real estate transaction but I guess that’s the point, right? All the different hats and wheels in motion, yet the client has no idea and just remembers an easy transaction. I can tell you as someone watches from the sideline every day, Matt works hard for every client so please join me in saying a huge, “CONGRATULATIONS” to Matt!
